So many new things happened at the end of the last Splinterlands season that it’s hard to cover everything at once. First, there were the End-of-Season (EOS) rewards, which include Glint from the Survival pool and Glint from the leaderboards for each game mode—meaning leaderboards for Survival, Wild, and Modern, depending on what you play.

On top of that, there’s the other half of the Glint earned during the season in Wild and Modern modes; this often amounts to a huge sum since it accumulates throughout the season and is all paid out at the end.

Regarding Survival specifically: since there had already been about three or four test runs, I didn't expect it to return this season. To my surprise, it is back, so I’ve already made some upgrades to compete more easily in a different bracket—more details on that coming soon.

Also regarding Survival: the event's 250k Glint reward usually takes a while to arrive, but it seems the Splinterlands team managed to optimize the process. The 250k Glint prize has already been distributed among participants, allowing for several more upgrades.

As I said, there is so much going on that it’s hard to discuss every detail at once. So, let’s take things in order: first, we’ll focus on the results from the end of the last season and analyze what could have been improved—there is a key area for improvement here. We’ll also cover the upgrades to the reward cards: three upgrades for Rare cards, one for an Epic, and a new Legendary card joining the deck!

Splinterlands End-of-Season Review

Regarding the season, everything went well overall. I managed to participate in the Survival test event again, completing all 250 matches. You might notice my rating was higher this season because I played in Bracket I; this bracket limits cards to Level 1, making matches much simpler and more straightforward since there are fewer abilities in play.

In Survival, I made it onto the leaderboard, securing 10k Glint and an Ascension Token—which I'm holding onto for the tournament that hasn't taken place yet. I also received some additional Glint from the Survival prize pool. Because I was focused on Survival, I didn't have time for Frontier, resulting in a low match count—just 16 matches in total.

Moving into the Wild format, I managed to make significant improvements by renting a few cards and gradually upgrading my deck with new ones, finally reaching Diamond III. However, there is a problem... Overall, my Glint earnings were great—73k from the season and 50k from the leaderboard—but there is a catch...

Since my rating has pushed me into Diamond III, I don't think I'll be able to participate in the Gold leaderboard this season, and I certainly won't come anywhere near the Diamond leaderboard. This will result in a 50k Glint loss at the end of the upcoming season. I don't expect to improve enough to crack the Diamond leaderboard—which is a real shame, considering that amount is practically enough for a Legendary card.

In the end, I had a total of over 130k Glint, so I decided to do a few things with it. The main move was spending 70k Glint to try and pull a new legendary card from the Conclave Arcana Rewards collection. Out of a total of 13 cards, I previously only owned two, but luckily, this legendary draw yielded a new one: Nyasha Mbalika.

This is an 8-mana Fire element card. Even at Level 1, it boasts solid stats—3 Ranged Attack, 1 Shield, 5 HP, and 4 Speed—with the "Opportunity" ability allowing it to target the opponent with the lowest HP. Notably, it is a "Ulund" unit, so it can also be incorporated into "Bloodline" strategies.

Upon reaching Level 2, it gains the "Inspire" ability, making it viable to pair with melee damage units; however, getting to Level 2 will take quite a while, as it would require another 140k Glint. Since the stats don't change drastically in subsequent levels, I believe the sweet spot is either Level 1 (for the damage output) or Level 2 (to unlock that extra utility).
