So if you have gone to the bother of plotting and farming Chia, is it worth looking at the various forks?

I'm currently farming just Chia and Flax.
Flax is the number one fork in my opinion; it has installers for Windows, Linux and Mac and also a Blockchain Explorer. Existing Chia plots (both OG and NFT pool plots) can be farmed, and like all forks you do need to use your Chia private keys to farm those existing plots though.
Goji is another fork I have tried but I'm not currently running, again easy installers for the three platforms. There's also a community developed blockchain explorer.
Spare is a little more difficult to get running using command line / terminal and I have seen a few negative comments about it, so do your own research.
Finally, Chives I have become interested in, mostly due to this article, Something is going on with Chives Coin via The Chia Plot which mentions MadMax of plotter fame and Caleb Curry of Coin Breakthrough in relation to Chives.
The key point is that the Chives team are going in their own direction and not just copy pasting Chia [smaller plot sizes etc.]. They even have a free Chives XCC quiz!
Actually right after this article, I'm going to download Chives and do that quiz to get some XCC!
The exciting thing with Chives is that you actually can make k29 plots specifically just for Chives - since they are much smaller K-29 11.55 GiB plots you can fill up the surplus space on CHIA HDDs with these smaller plots AND you can use a smaller SSD to do the plotting since they need 29.87 GiB temporary space (those figures are 12.4 GB and 32.07 GB).
Also you can create a new mnemonic for your Chives wallet as it is not farming your Chia plots (unlike the forks above).
[UPDATE] MadMax plotter now supports Chives plotting!
