So if you have accumulated some HDD storage, have plotted and started farming Chia, and either have received some XCH or maybe not (hang in there, miracles happen!), how about also farming some of the Chia forks? Or maybe you are just getting started and are wondering what the minimum hardware you can use. Either way it might be checking out some of the Chia forks.
I'm using a Mac and it was very easy to get started; for Flax it was just a pretty standard Mac .dmg installer download and for Spare Coin you need to compile the GUI from the code in the GitHub repository.
I haven't tried Chaingreen yet but that also looks pretty simple to set up.
The point to note is that you're going to need to input your original Chia mnemonic to access the Chia plots you have on all those hard drives, so it would be a really good idea to set up a second cold storage Chia address, transfer any Chia you have and also set your Chia farming reward address to that cold storage address. Wider questions would then be: Is it actually worth trying to earn these coins? Will they have any value? Will they be listed on any reasonable exchanges?
I will leave those questions for you, as they say DYOR (do your own research)!
Anyways good luck!!
