I'm in week 1 of a 2 weeks vacations and while some users over at noise.cash did not really seem to believe me, I'm actually pretty relaxed at the moment and thus a little less involved with everything than I usually am. Nevertheless, I obviously still was pretty active during the week with a lot of attention on the new star on the horizon - Alien Worlds.
Last week, I asked for feedback on the Play2Earn Report and man did I receive a lot of it. My articles might not be the highest voted on LeoFinance but it seems a lot of you guys actually take the time to read what I write here everyday. Interaction in the comment section of my articles is at an all time high and I have to say, I'm really grateful for it. The responses I'm getting from all of you are fantastic and I feel a little proud to publish something that people appreciate! I'll try to include some of the feedback given in the coming weeks. The first immediate one is that I'll reduce the amount of games I talk about when I don't have anything worthwhile to note. So instead of "nothing new" here, I'll just skip the game for the week and come back when I actually have something new to tell.
Now, before we talk games, let's talk tokens!
Not too much movement in any of the coins there, Hive and LEO are progressing nicely, especially LEO is really cool if you think about it. The way the price is developing and with all the new stuff coming soon, this is a lot of value generated within a week. I won't buy any more LBI as I feel like 2,000 is a great amount to have. For that reason, I'll drop it from the list after this report, no need to repeat it every week if nothing changes. I failed a bit with SPT but that's on me - I misspelled Splinterlands as splinderlands in my last Splinterlands specific article so I didn't get any SPT for it... ah well. XTM finally is still on an impressive rise. The native token to Torum, I see it as long term project. I expect Torum to be one of the pleasant surprises of the year and the tokens price should appreciate that. Ultimately, this might end up like my ETH - I won't sell any of it before 2025.
Now let's have a look at the games I'm playing:
Alien Worlds needs to be in the first spot this week without doubt. I'm really excited for the game which might explain why I've did a total of three articles on it in the last 10 days. My most recent one is a tutorial that should help you to quickly set up your own mining operation. If you haven't joined yet, I'd really advise you to do so. It's still in an early stage and we'll probably never see these returns per mine again!
From what I've gathered in their Discord, there will be a major content upgrade coming to the game on January 25th which will introduce Shining to the game. If you know the card level mechanic from Splinterlands you already know what to expect - it's basically a mechanic that burns additional copies of the same card to upgrade one copy to a higher quality. In the case of Alien Worlds this will not only increase its stats but also give it a more shiny look. You need 4 copies of any given card and a healthy amount of TLM to shine a card. Because of that, I expect the exchange rate for TLM to up quite a bit in the coming days.
There's also going to be a TLM sale on Ethereum in the coming weeks although I don't have any more information on that, yet. Depending on the asking price and the Gas fees at the time, this might be a great opportunity to stock up on cheap TLM. I'll keep you posted as soon as I have any more information on it.
Meh. I really botched this last season. Everything was going pretty good the first 13 days. I've been doing less matches per day, focusing more on my decisions and it paid off a lot. I had a way better win rate than last season and steadily progressed through the ranks. 48 hours before season's end I already was at 4690 rating before all went south. I accidentally ignored a rule set (which I still tend to do too often, sadly) and lost the match. Afterwards it was all going south, I grew increasingly annoyed with myself and lost more than 200 rating points in the progress. When I finally decided to stop and come back later, the damage was done. I had two more shots at making it across the line but lost in both instances. So ultimately, I didn't manage to make it to Champion I this season and I'm really annoyed with myself for that failure.
I need to let things sink in for a day or two before I get back to playing more but in the end, I won't let that stop me from competing for Champion I again. I sadly didn't get a card from the airdrop but with only like 20 pack bought that was to be expected. I'd love to have Maverick status eventually but I simply don't see myself ever buying Untamed packs again. On average, I'd loose value every time I do and while there obviously have to be people buying packs in order to fuel the market, I'm simply not the gambling kind and so I'll gladly keep buying the singles I need from the ones opening the packs for me.
I've still earned about 30,500 DEC this season which is still okay but obviously down a bit from what I had last time around. Ah well, setbacks are bound to happen, I'll be back in force this next season!
Elindos released a new blog post last weekend announcing an announcement of colonization and giving a lot of new juicy details about how it's all going to come together. We might even have a shot at getting our hands on it this January. I won't hold my breath for it just yet, but it certainly makes me hopeful that we'll get to a stage where we get to enjoy colonization and some kind of permanence in the game. I don't want to rephrase everything he's written, instead - if you haven't read it yet, make sure to head over to his article and give it a read, it's well worth your time!
Nothing new on dCity yet, but I teamed up with @jelly13 to improve and remake my city step by step. He'll get me some pointers on what I should do with my city to improve it and get back to climbing the ranks. I'll have a separate article on that in a couple of days and I'm really excited for it. With his help, I should get back on track pretty soon. In exchange, I'll publish some articles on games that I have stopped playing and will explain my reasoning behind it. The first of that series will feature Rabona and I intend to release it this Saturday or Sunday.
I'm making good progress on Rising Star and I'm slowly but steadily climbing the ranks there. Right now, I'm sitting at #37 which is another 2 ranks up from last week. I'm already at 94,000 Starbits, though, so I'll get another 12-pack as soon as today which should help me to climb another 2-3 ranks. My ego has peaked to 10% already so I will have to deal with that next. I'll take a look at the different instruments I have after opening the next 12 packs. If something stands out, I'll focus on getting more of that kind off the market and doing lessons until I have my Ego under control again.
I've been relying on the Road Crew lessons so far since I had a lot of coaches but it turns out this is probably not the ideal way to go. While I have a lot of vehicles, only the epic and legendary ones have any sizable amount of luck attached to them. Because of that, the mission is not really scalable well and still only provides my with 33-66 skill per mission. I will have to find another lesson to do in the future or I won't be able to keep up with my Ego.
Starbits are still being traded around 4 Hive per 10,000 Starbits. I suspect the price to go up once Instrument Crafting is released. This should hopefully allow me to trade Starbits for Hive again so I can buy the next 12-pack with Hive. This would grant me a Beethoven and would allow me to cross off another missing unique card from my list.
And that's all from me for today. I'm really grateful for everybody reading and especially commenting on my articles. Reading what you guys think about these games really makes my day. Thank you so much and see you next time!
