Bullish: Ripple and XRP in Gaming - Deep-dive into Forte

By wonderman | Crypto-Stuff | 6 Apr 2020

Ok, so I haven't exactly been living under a rock but as a non-gamer, the Ripple-XPRING-Forte partnership didn't hit home with me until recently when I came across a few videos that simply explained the potential opportunities. Here's my post about that if you want to see those videos: Ripple and XRP in Gaming for Dummies.

With my new-found excitement about this, I wanted to look more into Forte to understand what they have been up to. Here is what I found out:

1. March 2019: Establised partnership with Ripple/XPRING - $100m development fund dedicated to the partnership.

2. October 2019: Forte announces Other Ocean (who has worked with companies such as Microsoft Game Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Disney) as one of their partners and announce Other Ocean is integrating Forte technologies into Season 3 of browser-based game, Battle Royale: Unsung Heroes.

3. November 2019: Forte joins the Blockchain Association as first member directly representing the games industry.

4. December 2019: Forte announces Kongregate as their next partner. Here is what Forte says about Kongregate:

Kongregate has grown to be much more than its enormously popular web portal, though. Today, they are also a game developer, publisher, and PC games platform responsible for over 250M game downloads, multiple Editor’s Choice titles, and a combined community of over 8M players—each a remarkable achievement on its own, but extraordinary together.

Forte futher goes on to say:

Kongregate will be using the Forte platform to create an engaging community program that lets players earn rewards by completing unique challenges, playing games on their portal, and more. These blockchain-based rewards will be fully controlled by the players, and will help strengthen Kongregate’s developer and players communities in ways not possible until now

5. March 2020: Forte announces 5 more gaming partners: Hi-Rez Studios, Netmarble, Magmic, nWay, and DECA Games. You can read more about these on Forte's blogpost: https://www.forte.io/?p=391

Looking at how quickly Forte is bringing new partners who seem to be already working on integrating Forte's solutions sound very promising. Seeing how forte has started with Other Ocean in October 2019 and then brought on Kongregate in December 2019 to then explode with 5 new partnerships announced in March 2020 seems like they may have proven the concept and starting to scale quickly.

What do you think? Will the world start experiencing XRP in the gaming industry soon?
