Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Welcome to another edition of battle mage secrets. For this week, it's Holy Protection which give all monsters the Divine Shield ability. The Divine Shield ability ignores damage the first time the monster is hit.
For this battle the rules are:

Holy Protection - Ignores damage the first time the monster is hit.
Available Splinters: All except for Dragon
Maximum of 30 mana.
For this battle, I chose Earth again, the third consecutive time in Battle Mage Secrets. The reason is Earth deals a lot of damage and although magic units are squishy, the ruleset favors them.

For the team, the choice is easy to make.

Obsidian for summoner. The "Alric" of modern league, my favorite summoner for the green team. She gives +1 magic to all monsters.

Xenith Monk in the tank position. He deals 2 melee damage, has 4 speed and 7 hearts. He also has the healing ability similar to Flesh Golem in Wild League. I usually pick this or Hill Giant which has the Stun ability depending on the situation and mana requirement.

Regal Peryton in second position. It deals 3 magic damage, super fast with 6 speed and has 7 hearts. It also has the Flying ability. Not only is it a good damage dealer, it's also great as a secondary tank.

Magi of Chaos in third position. It does insane 4 magic damage so I always find a slot for him in my magic team.

Queen Mycelia in fourth position. This is a key card and a must-have if you are building an Earth deck. She gives a Shield to all monsters which is essential to a Magic team. She also has Triage which works well if you can slot in Mycelic Slipspawn in the backline which has a Taunt ability.

Goblin Psychic in fifth position. It deals 3 magic damage but it's slow with only 1 speed. It's good in reverse speed rulesets. It has Tank Heal ability but also has Affliction to prevent enemy monsters from healing.

Mycelic Morphoid in the last position. I slot this in to complete the mana requirement. It also plays a key role since it blocked the enemy sneak attackers.
My opponent also picked Earth but he has the soulbound summoner Lobb Lowland which allows one Gladiator card. For this battle, he picked Katrelba Gobson. It's one of the best Gladiator cards that is not legendary. It's a common card but it deals 3 melee damage. It's abilities are top notch. It has Double Strike, Bloodlust and Sneak. I often see this pairing (Lobb + Katrelba) and it works well and wrecks the backline. He also has Uraeus, another sneak attacker with Poison ability. The battle is a race between his sneak attacks wrecking my backline and my magic damage dealers decimating his frontline.
