Dash is preparing for growth and security
Version v0.14 just got released, which is the final version just before the official "Dash Version 1", which still has the working title "Evolution".
(Random Dash-fan thoughts: I wonder what the official name of Evolution is going to be - probably simply Dashpay? - slighly boring, but of course very fitting and already being used here and there. After years of anticipation it will be weird to see Evolution be released under a different name, but I guess for recognition and mass adoption it's better to call it what it actually is and what you can do with it. :))
Anyway...
Version 0.14 comes with three new features:
- ChainLocks
- LLMQ's
- LLMQ enabled InstantSend
What do all these nerd words even mean?
ChainLocks is a mechanism that will make Dash immune to 51% attacks. Watch this video for explanation here. It sounds pretty simple, and it's one of those Dash ideas that makes you think, "Why doesn't everyone do that?" And I wouldn't be surprised if - just like the masternode concept - everyone will start copying this idea sooner or later.
LLMQ's are Long Living Masternode Quorums - Short version: they are preparing Dash for future scalability and the many the users it expects. For more details, watch Amanda explain it in the short video below, especially if you're a business owner and plan to accept crypto / Dash in your business in the future, "once it's easier". Well, Dash is doing just that: making it easier not only for merchants, but especially for consumers.
LLMQ enabled InstantSend - This is a surprise. And a test. If it turns out to work, it will be pretty flipping epic... If you're curious, watch below from minute 2:56 on :)
Go Dash!
Can't wait for "Version 1" and the big reveal!
