That's right, Cave Slugs are taking over the battles this week.

Sluggin' it up.

With 2 Melee, 1 Speed, and 4 Health, they have the ability Opportunity which allows them to attack any target who has the lowest HP. These slugs are a nasty little critter that takes its time to assassinate its foes. 5 Mana cost means he's good for mid mana attacks, and his melee, paired with opportunity, makes him an ideal candidate for Light during Melee-only and No Snipe/Sneak battles!

I especially love this one, as they are these ridiculous, toothy slugs, one of them has a freaking mushroom growing on his back. These are some vicious little slugs. Watch out.

I think this guy will shine best in a mid-mana battle, where he can snipe out a crucial backline of an enemy team. I'm hoping to show him in a non-armored format, where he can really shine.

The Battle Ahead

Those are my enemies.

Cave Slugs Don't Fear Death.

The matchup went really nicely for Cave Slugs, I had a gold one still rented from a few days ago and used it, and we got a Melee only matchup. This went perfectly, as I knew my opponent would either go Fire or Death, and so I boosted my own Melee to either cancel Death, or stay on par with Fire.

This went really well, even with a crucial miss thrown in there on my end! RNG couldn't stop the might of Cave Slugs afterall.

Reflection

I feel that Cave Slugs is a really great, (slow) option for a melee-centric Light team, and pairing him with Shieldbearer to give him enough rounds to do his damage REALLY makes him shine. This little guy ate through half of the opponent's team, taking his time, eating rats in the background before one-shotting enemies. I think this battle beautifully illustrates his use in Bronze and Low Silver (Where you can rent Level 3s just like this one!)
