Web3 concept as business model for creating in the Internet (Part 1)

Web3 concept as business model for creating in the Internet (Part 1)

By Pawel23 | bweb3-project | 12 Dec 2023

I have been writing here sporadically (unfortunately!) for over a year. The tokens earned have changed since then. My approach has changed (and I would like to change it again). Earning models on the Internet are also changing, and cryptocurrencies would like to change this even more. Welcome to the first post with my thoughts...

Back to the past

In today's entry, I would like to invite you to the past to 2012. Seeing how the world is changing on the Internet, I wrote my first post on the topic of business models. Back then, I was referring to closing content and making it available for a subscription fee. Since then, this business model has also developed, and not necessarily as truly premium content (I then assumed that if it was truly premium, then we could consider it an option)

Even so, when I wrote this article. It is still, in a sense, current and that is why I started this series by referring to it.

We're going home

We are back in 2023. At the beginning of the year I shared my web3 test stack. If you're reading this post, you already know that despite the changes (more on that some other time), Publish0x is still there and I haven't written it off completely, even though back then I was still sharing web3 earnings as one of the metrics for my tests. Currently, I have no plans to reactivate this series. (I'm thinking how I could do it, but I gave up because I wanted to focus on more valuable content)

I look at my old article from a distance and a lot of it even makes sense nowadays. What's missing... is web3. There are also other intermediate models, such as the latest innovation on the X/Twitter portal for premium users. Sharing advertising revenues.

In this mini series I would like to check how the situation has changed after 11 years. Is the only option still Paid Content vs. Ads? What other options do we have in "web2"? And what would "web3" give us?

Next episode will be about... web2.

Thank you!
