Today, after a long wait, the Splinterlands App was finally released in the Google Play Store. After it worked for a long time only as a web app, you can now also download it on Android devices.

Splinterlands on your phone
In the development of the app a lot of resources and especially time were invested. The whole thing was worth it though, because the app is finally listed in the Play Store. I downloaded it and tested it a bit: At the moment you need to log in with the posting key (hopefully Hive Keychain mobile will be released soon) and you can use all functions of the PC version , except for the events/tournaments.
The gameplay itself is a bit different from the PC - of course, since the screen space is very limited. I have to admit, personally I don't really get along with the mobile view, but I never really tried to get used to it either. I have heard the opposite from other people who primarily use the mobile version. As so often it is a matter of getting used to it.
The release in the Play Store is a huge step towards mainstream adoption. I don't know yet how well you can start from zero on the cell phone, but if this works halfway well, then nothing should stand in the way of higher player numbers once the "real" marketing starts.
