Dogecoin bought what?

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 16 Sep 2025

House of Doge/Dogecoin Foundation, the people behind Dogecoin, just bought a football club, which is odd.

But not unheard of.

Dogecoin bought Triestina, a club that plays in the third division of Italian football.

Ironically, this means that are now two (part) owners of Italian football clubs that work in the crypto industry.

Tether, the ultra-powerful company behind USDT currently owns a 10 percent stake of Juventus, which is a club that I'm presuming a lot more people are familiar with.

As for Triestina, the club has never won anything major, but they have participated in the Serie A, Italy's top-tier league, 26 times. Which is not nothing.

I don't know what they intend to do.

Football is often used as a powerful soft power tool, which is why so many elite clubs are de-facto owned by sovereign states (PSG and Man City), but results are mixed.

PSG and City, for example, took a very long time and more importantly an enormous amount of money to become successful.

Let's see how that works out for Triestina.
