Reddit’s Pulse Check: Why Bitcoin Cash Remains the Real Digital Currency

By alberdioni8406 | The BCH Observer | 11 Dec 2025

About 17 hours ago, I published a post on Reddit, just as I usually do. The difference is that this time the goal was to demonstrate, in a practical way, why Bitcoin Cash truly matters. I chose r/BTC and r/BitcoinCash to take the “pulse” of both communities and understand how each group still views BTC and Bitcoin Cash today.

The results didn’t surprise me. There are still many people attached to the narrative that BTC is primarily a store of value — a theory repeated by BTC holders like a mantra. But that idea quickly falls apart when those who understand the real essence of digital money enter the conversation: the Bitcoin Cash supporters. I believe Satoshi Nakamoto always knew the world needed a functional digital currency, not an asset kept in a wallet like a trophy.

In the digital era, money must circulate. It needs to be simple, fast, and accessible. If someone wants to buy a coffee, the currency should allow a secure, instant, and hassle-free transaction. It’s frustrating to own something valuable that, in practice, can’t even be used to pay for a small purchase because the merchant must wait long minutes for confirmation. And on top of that, no merchant wants to adopt a system that is heavy, slow, or expensive to operate.

In theory, BTC is impressive because of its price. In practice, it’s uncomfortable and inefficient for everyday use. Bitcoin Cash, on the other hand, naturally solves all of this, functioning both as a medium of exchange and as a store of value — something BTC, with its current limitations, simply cannot deliver.

Next, I’ll present some of the statistics my post received on r/BTC and r/BitcoinCash. These numbers, by themselves, already answer many of the doubts, criticisms, and opinions circulating within the communities.

As you can see, opinions and convictions are many, but what wins in the end is the utility of the currency: if it can work, it will attract millions — and that is the reality.
