Games on Hive help in onboarding and retention

By Bala | Bala | 23 Jan 2024

Onboarding people to Hive has always been one of the most difficult things. But after onboarding, making them stay is the next most difficult task. When people join Hive and try to understand all the concepts, they initially start very well but later they slowly lose interest after they see the way rewards are distributed here. Some people find it hard to socialize and that could be one of the biggest reasons why they came to Hive leaving other social media platforms. But if they don't get any value on Hive, they usually leave Hive.

In the last 7 years, this blockchain has seen many people coming and going; if we take a look, many people have left this place. They either get busy in their real life or find another proper use for their time. There are still people who are sticking on and trying to find a common ground and those people find a good spot for them and continue their journey for years. User retention is one of the biggest things we need on Hive right now. Onboarding is the first problem but there is no point if, after onboarding, people leave.

Help from games

It is found that gaming on Hive is one sweet spot for people who are not very good at writing. Some people despite their bad writing skills, continue to write here and earn some money but most of the people look for different avenues we have on Hive. To get rewards from writing, quality, and quantity both are important with consistency. For people who don't have these, it can be a little hard. But the world doesn't end there, People can always play the game and continue their journey on Hive.

Hive games are getting very popular recently and many project owners are working on their own new game. For the available games in the Beta launch, many people have already started exploring games on Hive and can invest their money and get the fun they want. There is no need for such people to write any blogs because blogging is not always the only source of income for people. Gaming can be one good example because if our friends say that they are bored with writing and if their revenue is not very good with writing, they can still stay active and switch to being a gamer.

I know a few people who make a living with gaming income alone on Hive. They would have invested a lot of time playing the games and sometimes would have even spent a lot of money. But gradually it comes a comfortable active income or a passive income where the users will not have to do anything.

Need more games to onboard more people

Some of the biggest games on Hive have indeed brought us many users to Hive. One of the biggest actors here doing this is Splinterlands. They can onboard a lot of people by talking about their game. One of the biggest advantages of gaming is that it is not only fun to play games but most of these games are all Play2Earn. That's what makes it attractive. Let's hope we have more working games on Hive.
