In my last post (https://www.publish0x.com/alternative-democracy-and-economic-systems/alternative-to-current-political-and-economic-systems-introd-xkdkvpq) I presented my approach for a new alternative political and economic systems and my motivation, largely due to a overall feeling of too much in the actual word. Too much of frauds, bad systems that we don't change, income disparity, poverty, wars etc !
Today, I would like to go over the goals I defined for this new system. Of course, this is not and will never be fixed in stone, it has to evolve everyday as the world is evolving. It has to be community-driven, I again only want to build the 1st stones of the wall but then everyone will need to be involved. I don't want to be the new master of the world and it's absolutely not the goal of this new system to create a new "1% of super-rich". I will develop those points in another post later.
Here we go with the goals:
1. Guarantee basic needs (security = freedom)
Objective: Neutralize the fear of lack -> deactivate greed.
- Shelter, water, energy, health, food, education, digital access -> guaranteed for all!
- Housing: guaranteed right to housing.
- Energy: local self-sufficiency, ecology, and sustainable development
- Health: preventive medicine, free access to care. Participatory model between practitioners and patients. No speculation on health or patents. End of health monopolies.
- Food: local agro-ecology, food belts, distribution cooperatives. Reduce agribusiness.
- Education: free, open, decentralized, inter-generational.
- Connectivity: public internet access for all.
Consequence: No more need to hoard to survive. Greed loses its function.
2. Radically Participatory Democracy
Objective: Make power fluid, local, and transparent.
- Municipal Assemblies
- Regional Assemblies
- Global Assemblies
Consequence: Greater social connection, listening, and a sense of purpose. Power no longer accumulates: it circulates.
3. Contributory and Cooperative Economy
Objective: Replace the logic of profit with that of useful contribution.
Consequence: You work because you believe in it, and your community supports you. Greed becomes counterproductive.
4. Local Currency or Time as a Unit of Value
Objective: Make exchanges fluid without creating capital.
Consequence: End of speculative bubbles, the super-rich, and extreme poverty.
5. Non-economic Indicators of Success
Objective: Guide society toward human and ecological fulfillment.
- Replacement of GDP with civic, ecological, well-being, etc. indices.
Consequence: Political decisions aim for human flourishing and sustainability.
6. Regenerative ecology at the heart of the system
Objective: not to "do less harm," but to "do good."
Consequence: Humans become guardians of life, not its predators.
7. Culture of care, learning, and joy
Objective: To restore meaning to life beyond productivity.
Consequence: No more sterile competition. Meaning and joy in life replace individualistic ambition.
In summary, a world where:
- The fear of lack no longer exists,
- Work becomes a chosen contribution,
- Power is horizontal, fluid, and transparent,
- The economy serves humans and all living things,
- And where greed has become obsolete because everyone is already "rich" in the essentials.
