3-headed monster, 3 African Kings, 3 Hollywood studios and Artificial Intelligence: A Halloween Tale

3-headed monster, 3 African Kings, 3 Hollywood studios and Artificial Intelligence: A Halloween Tale

Once upon a time, during a 2026 interview by John Okoro titled  "Can AI Replace Your CFO? Mark Dunaway on the Future of Finance", at around minute 16, Dunaway said: "it's a three-headed monster really, that it takes to run a business." He outlined the three heads of this monster at around minute 15:38: "...running a business is hard...you've got operations that have to be perfect. You've got sales and marketing that has to be perfect...you bring in the financial perspective, that planning perspective that basically shows the shortfalls and the excesses and and determines how you move forward."

A knight in shining armour - or in tarnished armour for those who are against it - appeared and begun slaying this monster.

These three heads have been existing in the organizational chart.

On 27th October 2026, in "The Future of Jobs Will Be Decided Inside Your Organisation" Salim Ismail reminded us that the latest Future of Jobs Report "projects 170 million new roles by 2030 against 92 million displaced, a net gain of 78 million jobs."

Let us pause here and take a moment to acknowledge the horror of those 92 million displaced.

Using the first two letters from the RECONCILIATION framework:

We continue to respect anyone who has lost a job. Their value as a human being is not dependent on nor determined by their job.
We empathize with them. All their feelings are valid - anger, betrayal, sadness.

In the August 2026 article "What will humans do when AI does everything better?" Peter H. Diamandis brainstorms on 'Purpose, Meaning, and the Post-Work Future". He reminds us of three historical precedents, one of which is how the ulra-wealthy spend time today: intellectual pursuit (reading, writing, learning languages, collecting knowledge), curation and collecting (The act of choosing and assembling), creative expression, mentoring and legacy (passing knowledge to children, building institutions, writing memoirs).

Diamandis also lists ten categories of post-AGI human purpose. They include The Curator, The Creator, The Relationship Builder, The Philosopher, The Storyteller ("A story told by a human to other humans is connection"), The Parent and Educator ("Raising children: not to be workers, but to be full humans"; "Character education: courage, kindness, resilience, curiosity"; "The parent as guide: helping children navigate a world  where anything is possible, which means the skill of choosing becomes paramount."), The Healer ("Emotional  healing: presence, listening, empathy..."; "Community care: building support systems for the vulnerable")

Back to the three-headed monster: operations, sales and marketing, financials.

Salim Ismail goes on to write: "When a company drops AI into its existing structure, the first work it absorbs is the work we used to give juniors: the drafting, the data pulls, the first-pass analysis...AI agents can do most of an organisation’s work better than the structures we built to do it."

Speaking of structures, there was an interesting comment by a YouTube user called @The_Seeker, on the very educational video by Louis Rossmann, "Adobe gets destroyed by open source clone: here's the legal trouble I predict into the future", which illustrates the slaying powers of AI; @The_Seeker commented: "If AI accomplishes nothing else for mankind but finally putting the hatchet in the grotesque medieval relic that we call copyright law. I'll be happy with it. Information obviously cannot and ought never to have been ownable apart from the media that it's contained in."

Ownable. Ownership. Let us now pivot to the story of the three African Kings. The YouTube video begins by informing us that: "In 1895, a diamond millionaire wanted three African Kingdoms. Their Kings sailed to London to stop him. But the deal was already done."

It's a special kind of horror for Africans and other indigenous people when their land is taken, since land is tied to their very identity. As horrorlex.com notes in the November 24th, 2022 article 'This land is your land: Indigenous Horror': "'Indigenous horror' thus has two different meanings as reflected in modern horror fiction: one, homegrown horror myths ingrained in indigenous culture, and two, the horror of colonization and racial oppression. The stories of such horror can be told by both White and indigenous storytellers, with, perhaps not surprisingly, radically different viewpoints."

In my telling of the story, I mention the three African Kings: Khaba, Sebele and Bathoen. I mention three of the four places they went to, to talk straight to the British people after Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain told them: "it's decided" then left on holiday. The three places are Bristol, Birmingham, Brighton. I left out Glasgow because I wanted to retain the alliteration. I put Brighton at the end because it ends in 'n' like Bathoen, in, and Queen.

Queen. At one point, "Queen Victoria received them at Windsor Castle." Hence the lines "Windsor castle, Victoria Queen" and "Lace in the palace court"

Why "Sneakers and Lace"? In one of my recent memories on a social media platform, I came across a 2019 photo of me dressed in a red lace dress and sneakers. Then I remembered that in January 2026, I had generated an AI slide deck that had one slide which featured a model wearing sneakers and an outfit combining lace and African fabric. I used that slide to create an A.I. fashion show titled: "Sneakers Lace African-patterned fabric + 3 African Kings - Khaba, Sebele, Bathoen (Afrogoth AI Fashion Show)". You can watch it HERE:

How to end this story?

With an entertaining ending of course!

On July 4, 2026, an article on techcrunch.com, by Anthony Ha titled "Midjourney wants Hollywood studios to reveal the details of their AI usage" informed us of the legal dispute between three Hollywood studios and AI startup Midjourney which was "seeking to compel those studios to reveal how they use AI themselves. The three Hollywood studios are Disney, Universal and Warner Brothers and they sued Midjourney for "alleged copyright infringement". Midjourney argued that "training its AI models on images of copyrighted characters is permitted under fair use". Later, Midjourney hit back by arguing that "the studios should reveal all the prompts they used in Midjourney, as well as the resulting outputs, not just the prompts that produced the allegedly infringing images."

It's like Clash of the Titans!

Or Creature Features!

And they all lived happily ever after?

Regardless of whether you are pro or anti AI, do have a happy halloween!
