Crypto can make you feel stupid before you’ve even finished your damn coffee. Bitcoin hits resistance. There are new rules being proposed. Somebody’s talking about self-custody. Ethereum is apparently doing something important that I probably need another three cups of coffee to understand. Solana is moving deeper into institutional finance. And I’m sitting here thinking, okay… but how is the actual HUMAN behind the screen doing? Because honestly, that’s the part I care about.
I’m old school. I understand the paper stuff. Money you can hold. Money you can fold up and accidentally leave in your winter coat, only to find twenty bucks six months later and feel like you just received an inheritance. This digital money world is different for me. Crypto has been around for years, but I’m still learning. Half the terminology sounds like somebody made it up at three o’clock in the morning and the rest of us just nodded and went along with it because we didn’t want to look stupid.
But I’m learning, and that’s exactly why I want to talk about it. I’m not going to pretend I’m some investment expert. I’m not going to tell you which coin to buy, when to sell, or where Bitcoin is going next Tuesday. There are plenty of people doing that already. What I can talk about is the thing I actually understand: the person making the decision. The person sitting behind the screen watching those numbers move up and down while fear, excitement, greed, hope, regret and FOMO are having a damn staff meeting inside their head.
The more I learn about investing, the more I realize that investing and mindset have a hell of a lot in common. Both require patience. Both require learning. Both require knowing when you’re reacting emotionally instead of thinking clearly. And both can expose some uncomfortable things about how you see yourself, money and your future.
People ask, “Can Bitcoin actually make me wealthy?” But I’m starting to think there’s another question that needs to come first: Do I actually believe I’m capable and worthy of creating wealth? Because if somewhere deep inside you don’t believe there’s enough for you, it becomes really easy to start chasing. You want the shortcut. You want the quick win. Somebody whispers “100X” and suddenly you’re moving money around like you’ve been managing a hedge fund since breakfast.
So I’m going to keep learning. I’ll grab some of the crypto headlines that catch my attention, figure out what the hell everybody is talking about, pour myself some coffee and share what I discover along the way. Not investment advice. Not predictions. Just a regular human trying to understand this digital financial world without allowing it to hijack her peace.
Because before I invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana or whatever comes along next, there’s one investment I already know matters: my mindset. Maybe the real question isn’t, “Can Bitcoin create the future I want?” Maybe it’s, “Do I believe enough in my future to start learning how to build it?”
If the answer is yes, grab your coffee. We’ve got some shit to learn.
Take care of your wallet. Take care of your mind. And whatever you do, don’t crypto on your mental health.
