I know how cliche this is, but who doesn't need to lose those holiday pounds or those holiday plus pounds? I know I've put back on some of the 70 pounds I lost a few years ago so I'm ready to start losing that extra weight.
I'm hoping you will join me if you need to shed some pounds. I'm not going to be injecting myself with weight loss drugs or doing any crazy fasting regime or eating just these foods or those foods. I'm doing plain old common-sense dieting. Calories in versus calories out.
So, if you have containers of treats left over from the holidays, now is the time to get rid of them! I ate my last Christmas cookie last night so I'm working on that. The fudge is also gone. I'm also going to fob off some breads and left over desserts on some family as well.
So.... How am I going to do this? The same way I did last time when I lost 70 pounds:
Get on the scale (ugh).
Input my weight in My Fitness Pal (this is a FREE smart phone app - you don't need the premium version).
Stick to the daily calorie allowance I'm assigned.
Weigh, measure and log every food or drink item I consume.
Only weigh myself weekly.
Limit carbs and high calorie foods.
Go to the gym for two strength training and two cardio workouts per week.
NEW for 2025: Go for more walks in addition to gym workouts.
NEW for 2024: Go to two Yoga classes per week when I'm at home.
I'm going to try and blog once or twice a week to keep myself and anyone who needs encouragement motivated. If you are going to start a weight loss plan and want to feel like you are part of a group who are doing this, it would be great if you could post the one-word comment "me" below, so we all know we are all not doing this alone.
Cheers to a healthier 2025!
