NVIDIA Launches Their New RTX 30 Series

By Thomas Wolf | wickedthewolf | 6 Sep 2020

I haven't promoted anything in a while, but this I couldn't miss.

NVIDIA is introducing the new 30 series graphics cards including the GeForce RTX 3070 which is starting at $499 USD and will become readily available on October 15th, 2020.

The bigger sister and brother models (the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090) will be released in September at a higher price point.

I love the two-fan cooling push-pull configuration; it will be perfect in my current system which I just upgraded to 32 GB of RAM due to all the multi-tasking I do and for me, it was actually worth it.  The RTX 3070 will likely be my late birthday present to myself as it is perfect for my configuration and my budget.

The RTX 3070 boasts 5,888 CUDA cores and 8 GB of the world's fastest gaming ram in the world - GDDR6X which uses PAM4 signal transmission technology to double the rate per clock compared to the 20 series GDDR6 RAM.

Here is the official YouTube run-down on the full GeForce RTX 30 Series by NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang:

I found this to be very informative on the card specs and design:

Here are some basic specs and prices on the new series lineup:

A lot of people will be able to take advantage of the low price point on the RTX 3070 and it will drive down prices on older models.  This could be a big moment for NVIDIA and for us consumers, as well.

I will definitely be getting a 3070.  SOLD for 500.  I was looking at worse price points for the 20 series on Amazon before the news popped.  I am looking forward to an awesome Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year.

Stay smart & Stay Safe everyone.

Questions and comments are always welcome.

P.S.  Shouts out to the Publish0x Team - Thank you for paying outrageous fees to pay us.  I highly suggest you switch to Stellar Lumens or Nano, I'd be happy to accept either; none of us can thrive if we obey Ethereum's gas rules.

Oh, and happy Labor Day weekend to you folks in the USA!
