Today, it's been 7 years since I joined Hive (Steemit back then) blockchain. I became a member of Hive on January 10, 2018. I can say that I met Hive by chance. I was looking for an alternative video platform to You Tube and run into DTube at that times. I became a member of HIVE to become a member of DTube. You can also guess where my username came from. I was focused on DTube, but I didn't know HIVE was such a huge blogging platform. DTube was just, to my surprise, the tip of the iceberg. Later on, I started to examine HIVE in detail. As everybody, it took me time to figure out how the HIVE blockchain run early on when I became a member.



The period when I became a member of HIVE was the times when cryptocurrencies had first made a splash. HIVE was more active than it is today and the token price was higher back then. Therefore, there were many members from both Turkiye and other countries. In the first months of my membership, I participated in approximately 25 competitions where posts were written on a different topic each week, contributing to the development of the TR Community and tag. These contests used to be organized by the largest TR community of that time. I can say that the contests were instructive and helped me quickly adapt to HIVE. I joined the TR help project, which supports the development of the community, its tag and new members later. During this period, the trend of the TR community and tag was very high, and an atmosphere of friendship was established.

Due to the fall in the price of HIVE and some other reasons, many members have left HIVE not to return in the summer of 2018. After this period, I rarely shared posts. I tried not to break away from HIVE by voting manually and automatically thanks to the apps such as Partiko and HIVE Auto. The parts I have mentioned as HIVE until now were actually on the Steemit platform. The HIVE platform was created by making a change called hardfork on the Steemit platform in March 2020. Thus, a second account with the same features of the account on Steemit was created on HIVE as well. Therefore, anyone who created an account before this date has two accounts on both Steemit and HIVE. Some people remained on Steemit knowingly or unknowingly about the existence of HIVE, while some of us switched to HIVE. I continued on HIVE by not being very active until the middle of 2021.

Because of the ongoing pandemic and restrictions in 2021, the number of social activities to be held was limited. As of August 2021, I started to increase my activity in HIVE. One of the factors in this is the @ecency mobile dapplication. Thanks to the Ecency dapplication, I could more easily read, comment and upvote on the posts on HIVE. Meanwhile, the activity of our Hive Turkey Discord channel and the number of members were increasing with both some old and new members coming back. It was also possible to see a post with the TR tag in HIVE. As a result of the developments in the Turkish Community, also Trliste curation trail has been active again three years later.

I continued to increase my activity on HIVE in 2022 as well. The number of posts I shared, received upvote and comment; and the number of posts I read, upvoted and commented on HIVE increased significantly in 2022. I can say that 2023 was head-to-head with 2022. Likewise, I had also started 2023 very well. If I hadn't had to take a little break from HIVE during the summer months, perhaps 2023 would have been my most productive year on HIVE. As for 2024, I have decided to continue my journey on HIVE on my own regardless of any community. 2024 was the year which I have shared the most posts, read the most posts, upvoted the most posts, received the most upvotes, commented on the most posts, and received the most comments on HIVE. However, it was not easy to realize and maintain all this. I am not sure whether I have been able to progress my account as I wanted during this 7-year period. HIVE is also a platform where you need to dedicate special effort and time in your life. Therefore, I cannot really foresee my future on HIVE in 2025. I will definitely not leave HIVE, but I do not think I will be as active as I was before. Time will tell me.

Shortly, I completed another year on HIVE. Time passes by so quickly, I didn’t even notice how 7 years passed. The earlier we join the HIVE platform, the more HIVE we can power up. I wish everyone many HIVE Anniversaries, good luck and healthy days. Thank you for reading.
