Basically, Ripple and Bitcoin are alike using Blockchain technology, peer-to-peer (P2P) network without the need of meddling third parties, Ripple's XRP currency. is also a digital currency similar to BTC. Ripple was created to support Bitcoin rather than as a competitor, Ripple is essentially a payment system, while Bitcoin is a means of payment and is intended to be a currency. The Ripple network is designed for seamless money transfer, whether it's USD, Euro, Pound or Bitcoin.

The difference we can see between Bitcoin and Ripple is:

Bitcoin is minable and Ripple is not
The number of Bitcoin is finite and XRP is infinite
Bitcoin's purpose is to become a means of payment and Ripple is a money transfer system.
