Here, we will compare it by each of the following:
1. Blockchain Development:
Both Ethereum and Cardano allow developers to run Blockchain-based applications, such as smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps).
2. Platform for tokens:
Another similarity is that both allow people to create their own cryptocurrency and raise funds through ICOs. Currently, Ethereum is still the platform used by tokens rather than Cardano.
3. Infrastructure:
This is probably the biggest difference between Ethereum and Cardano, Cardano has two separate layers: Cardano Settlement Layer (CSL): The first layer is similar to Bitcoin but uses PoS consensus and is used to implement deal. Cardano Computation Layer (CCL): A layer that allows to run decentralized applications (Dapps) and Contracts.
Despite being intelligent, it is still independent from CSL. This class is described as a development layer. As for Ethereum, both classes are intertwined. This means that when it comes to making changes or forks, Cardano's Blockchain structure outperforms Ethereum.
