So some of you may remember a post from almost 2 years ago (this is the link) in which I shared my experience as an Alienworlds player using a legendary tool and discussed whether or not I found it worthwhile. To put it simply... I did not. I was barely getting 0.1 TLM per hour using what was supposed to be one of the best tools available. For reference, my setup at the time was just one Exlian Staff.

My setup now is an Exlian Staff (Legendary) and Causian Attractor (Epic) however the latter doesn't contribute to TLM mining so the amount of TLM I get per mine is solely dependent on the Exlian Staff. Mining on a Mushroom Forest on Neri, my last 5 mines have given:

-1.7381 TLM

-2.0964 TLM

-2.1520 TLM

as well as providing 35.2 NFT points with a cooldown of 2100s (35mins). There has evidently been a drastic increase in my TLM production with some mines giving over 40x (Yes. I repeat: 40x) more than they did less than 2 years ago. However, do these numbers make the legendary tool worth it?

Well for me? Yes. But this may no longer be the case. I personally purchased my Exlian Staff for 820 WAX ($105.53 USD at the time) however the current lowest listing is 15,243.9 WAX ($750.00 USD) and its past 2 sales at 13,000 WAX ($699 USD) and 13,650 WAX ($734 USD). Clearly, with the benefit of hindsight, this was an excellent purchase, but what about now? $700 USD is no measly amount and it could quite possibly put you in a good position in many other projects. Perhaps we should discuss the major benefit of using a legendary tool because it seems quite foolish to buy a tool with 10 mining power when there are lower rarity tools which when used together are cheaper and have a greater mining power.

Rarity pool distributions. This is where the value comes from. With <1000 Legendary tools minted in total, the Legendary TLM pool is in no way spread thin and so with little competition, your claims are guaranteed to provide a decent amount of TLM (as can be seen with my mines above).

However, despite this, needing more than $400 USD to buy the cheapest Legendary tool on the market is still a series purchase. Without trying to force any ideas upon you and without giving financial advice, if I was a new user I would personally see better value in investing that money into other projects. I am of course biased since I'm already invested, but I would see better value putting that WAX towards Warsaken to start claiming LOOT as the same amount of WAX could quite easily get you claiming 15,000 LOOT per day (22+ WAX at current market prices).

Once again, this is simply my own perspective and I strongly advise you to do your own research before investing in any project, especially when dealing with amounts like those discussed above.
