Golden Hermes

This is an item I briefly showed a few days ago, let's see it in more detail.

It comes in a nifty box, covered with fake leather or something

Let's open it up!

The COA reads

Gold Plated Stamp "Hermes"

It is created and exclusively released by post collection of Hellenic Post

On the other side it reads the exact same, but in Greek

On top, the logo reads ΕΛΤΑ , which is short for Ελληνικά Ταχυδρομεία or Hellenic (Greek) Post.

Now, since this piece is only gold plated there's really not much gold, probably not even 0.01 g, but it's really well made, detailed and shiny. Definitely an eye candy featuring a prominent Greek figure Hermes

On the top the stamp reads ΕΛΛ ΓΡΑΜΜ for Greek stamps, and on the bottom 5 ΛΕΠΤΑ for 5 cents.

Nothing special on the back, which is plain

As always, a size comparison with a euro to give you a visual idea of the size

I paid for this sweet baby 15 euros as part of a bundle deal. Dunno how much it was the cost when it first came out, the cheapest I can find it on auctions today is about 25 without postal so I think I did pretty good. For now I'll keep it, and may barter it in the future since there's really not any precious metals on it :/

In other news, I received a notice my secret Santa package from #silvergoldstackers is waiting me on the post office. Didn't have time to pick it this week but will do first thing on Monday. Can't wait to open it up🎉🎉🎉🎉

Ok, now it's time to once again play with Chatgbt and learn more about Hermes! :)

What do you know about the Greek God Hermes

Hermes is the Greek god of commerce, thieves, travelers, sports, athletes, and border crossings. He is also known as the messenger of the gods. Hermes is the son of Zeus and the nymph Maia. He is depicted as a youthful, quick-witted and athletic god with a caduceus (a staff entwined with two serpents) and a winged hat or cap called the petasos. In classical Greek mythology, Hermes is often depicted as a mischievous and cunning god, and is known for his wit and eloquence. He was also a patron of thieves and was believed to be able to move freely between the mortal and divine realms.

Tell me about his sex life

In Greek mythology, Hermes was known for his many sexual encounters and affairs with both mortal women and other deities. One of his most well-known lovers was the mortal woman Penelope, who he seduced while she was still married to the hero Odysseus. Hermes also had children with various goddesses, nymphs, and mortals. Some of his children include the war god Ares, the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite, and the hero Typhaon.

It's important to note that the myths and stories of Greek mythology should not be taken literally, and the sexual behavior of the gods and goddesses is often used to symbolize and represent human behavior and desires

Did he fart?

There is no mention in Greek mythology of Hermes having the ability to fart or of him farting. The myths and stories about the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology often focused on their actions and characteristics, rather than on mundane or bodily functions. It's possible that the ancient Greeks did not find such things to be worthy of mention in their myths.

So... No farts today. Sorry!
