One of the places worth visiting are the ruins of the complex dedicated to the Theban gods, i.e. Karnak, 2.5 km away from Luxor, which in 1979 was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

There we also find the second huge statues of Ramses III, and in front of them is the figure of his wife, reaching the knee of Pharaoh.
