Củ Chi tunnels is about an hour outside of Ho Chi Minh City. The Củ Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968.
There is a massive network of tunnels under Củ Chi and during the Vietnam War (which they call the American War here) the network of tunnels in the Cu Chi district linked VC support bases over a distance of some 250 kilometers, from the outskirts of Saigon all the way to the Cambodian border.
When you visit, you can go on a tour of the grounds then when you come back there is this small museum and a shooting range where you can shoot a wide range of weapons.

I will cover the grounds themselves in another post.
