Main Takeaways From Steemit Tron "Partnership" AMA

By tomoyan | tomoyan | 15 Feb 2020

Justin and Ned had a DLive AMA this morning. It lasted about an hour.

They talked about their backgrounds and projects and why Steemit is joining Tron ecosystem.

But first and most importantly, there is NO BIG CHANGES to Steemit for a while.

Ned sold Steemit and all his shares because he has his own projects and some personal reasons.

Justin wanted put his hands on Steemit because he has been interested and active in the other social medias and networks so he saw the values and potentials in Steemit and blockchain-based socail media.

I think this is the main reason Justin wanted to buy Steemit.

He also mentioned that he is going to put more resources, financial and human resources, into Steemit to make it growth and improve steem communities.

He wants to focus on innovative products, better user-interface, traffic into Steemit so that user base will grow and STEEM token value will increase.

So that STEEM token hodlers will benefit from this "partnership".

That means he wants to keep Tron and STEEM separate and NO TOKEN SWAP is planned for now!

And he won't touch the witness vote.

But new products will come out next week as beta. (or near future)

  • communities: Reddit's subreddit like community-based Steemit.
  • Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) is ready and still go live as long as Steemit team is comfortable doing so.

It seems to me that Steemit will be "Steemit" for a while and keep going as it is... whales and all included 🤣

STEEMIT 2.0

Justin mentioned and touched a little bit on exploring and experimenting on Steemit and Tron collaborations and new products like

  • STEEM mobile phone integration
  • Opera + STEEM
  • BitTorrent + STEEM

Nothing specific but he wants create Tron + Steemit decentralized products this year and next year.

(I think he emphasized on next 2 years or something like that so I am not sure what happens after that🤔)

So the main focus of this "partnership" is financial growth on both tokens, Tron and STEEM and improvements on Steemit.

(He is planning on "bullish" move?!)

Everything else will stay the same and further announcements will be made on Justin's twitter.
