Firstly what is a truism?
A truism Self-evident obvious truth that you or others believe is true
There are major truisms that have been generally accepted
Such as,
- The Earth is Round
- The Earth is in an orbit around the sun
- If your nerves were connected they would reach the sun and halfway back
But the 3rd one isn't true,
⚠️⚠️Spoiler⚠️⚠️ : All your blood vessels when connected reach 19,000KM
And I got that from THIS VIDEO
from a reliable source of course
Actually, that's the entire reason why I am writing a post about Truisms
That simple video made me want to make a post of Crypto Truisms
Truisms In Crypto
: When I first started searching for Crypto truisms, I thought it was going to be easy
But I was able to get some of my friends to brainstorm some truisms
And Here they are (The filtered ones at least)
1) All Blockchains Are Decentralized
: My friend found out about this truism when he was talking about crypto to an average person,
But the person he was talking to said "I don't really like the risk, It isn't even managed by an organization (He was talking about the government)",
But that's a good thing, They are less Centralized, but still not all Blockchains are Decentralized, There are chains like Cardano that have 70% of all their coins, in less than 1.5% of all Cardano wallets
2) Crypto Transactions Are Private and Anonymous
: Many people believe crypto transactions are anonymous (Kinda are), but public blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum are transparent, so anyone can see transaction histories
Only privacy-focused coins like Monero or Zcash prioritize true anonymity, and even then, it's not always 100% foolproof
See transactions are anonymous because you don't give personal information to do transactions on it (Only crypto)
3) Smart Contracts Are Immutable and Trustless
: Although smart contracts are designed to run without human intervention, they can have bugs or exploitable vulnerabilities
Sometimes allowing developers to alter or upgrade them
Also, poorly coded contracts have led to significant hacks, showing that they aren't that "trustless"
4) Crypto Prices Only Go Up in the Long Term
: While it's true that many major coins have appreciated over the years, crypto markets are highly volatile, with extended downturns and crashes
Many coins, especially smaller ones, fail and never recover, so assuming that prices will "always go up" can be financially dangerous
5) DeFi (Decentralized Finance) Is Risk-Free With High Return
: Many people are drawn to DeFi by promises of high returns, but these platforms carry significant risks, including smart contract bugs, exit scams, and "rug pulls" (where developers drain the liquidity pool)
High rewards are often a reflection of high risk, not "free money"
But the opposite is true
That's all
This wasn't that high effort
it only took me an hour
give me a 70% tip and bye
