So today we are going to look at Horizen and their ZEN cryptocurrency. As far as I know, it has been discussed here on Publish0x few times recently, but there’s nothing strange about it – Horizen is getting clearly deserved popularity.
Be sure that I’m not going to repeat any commonly known informations – I want to focus on the most possible future of this cryptocurrency and whole project.
What is Horizen?
Quick review in a nutshell, just in case you still don’t know anything about it.
ZEN is cryptocurrency provided by Horizen team – propably the best crypto-developers that I had chance to see.
Good technology – this is the reason for why ZEN is powerful. It’s safe to use, fast, protect privacy and generally has a lot more stability than Bitcoin (including its price). Besides – those sidechains and node network! Just give it some time, and it will became one of the worlds top cryptocurrency.
Just like Bitcoin, total amount of coin will reach 21 000 000. For now, it’s not even in half way, with circulating supply a bit higher than 9 000 000, and actual market capitalization of almost 50 000 000 $. If you need more precise info, check it out on CoinGecko HERE.
But! There’s one big difference between nowadays ZEN and Bitcoin, and it is…
Mining Profitability
That’s right. If you want to mine Bitcoin today and actually earn money, then you propably need your own solar power plant. But not with ZEN. Well, mining Horizen probably won’t make you rich, but you can earn it just the way we’ve been doing it on 2017 – especially if you are going to use Antminer. What is the most interesting thing about ZEN is that mining and buying are not the only ways to get it. There’s something else, and it’s one and only, official…
Faucet
Oh man, we all hate faucets, aren’t we? All those stupid *click*, *click*, *click* for your entire life and you can earn 0.001 $ per hour... But here, the thing is much different.
At first, I wasn’t convinced, but after I tried, I must admit that this is first faucet that actually works and doesn’t want you to resolve captcha for a whole day.
The only thing you have to do is register (you can USE my refflink!), download the wallet and click claim just one time on 20 hours. How much you get? After five clicks (which means five days) I got 0,06 $. I know, I know, not too much… But still it’s pretty much like for a faucet, right?!

Is Horizen new Bitcoin?
A lot of people believe so. Do I? Well… It depends.
I said before few words about ZEN ability to became “Worlds Top Cryptocurrency”. It will definitely be, but just because of its usage reasons, similar to Loopring (which I’m going to write about soon), but it really doesn’t mean that its price will grow extremely, when comparing to todays price.
Therefore, if we are talking about prices, then no – it won’t repeat success of Bitcoin. I don’t believe that ZEN will reach more than 30 $ in 2025, because there is no reason to demand it for anything else than payments (unlike the Basic Attention Token, check THIS out!)
It is big change tho, since todays price of ZEN is 5,5 $. Therefore you should definitely hold your zennies, just like I do, but don’t expect to much.
I’m saying all of this because I saw a comment recently, where someone was really sure that after Bitcoin halving, ZEN is going to 10,000 $ (while BTC to 100,000 $). No, my friend, it’s not gonna happen, unfortunately, but ZEN is still pretty good investment and #HODL possibility.
