There's been a lot of talk the last few days about BAT leaving people's browsers unexpectedly. I have no idea what's going on with that. I do have an idea of a more secure location though.
I transfer my BAT to my Exodus wallet from Uphold. I don't need to cash it out (right now), I can send it back to my browser-based BATstache if that gets a little too low for what I want to do, and I don't have to worry about it all disappearing if I accidentally leave auto-contribute turned on.
I use Exodus so that's what I will be giving examples from; if you use a different wallet, let us know if this does/doesn't work in the comments.
How-To
Once you've withdrawn your Bat to Uphold, use the Brave Browser card
and select Send to Cryptocurrency or Utility Token.
Then, under the Choose A Utility Token To Send Funds To list, select Basic Attention Token (BAT)
Go into your Wallet and copy your BAT receiving address. Copy it into the utility token address bar.
Enter the amount you want to send in USD or in BAT, select the green Confirm button, and your BAT will show up in your wallet as soon as the required amount of verifications happen (I don't know that number though. Probably 12? 15? IDK.)
NOTE: To withdraw your bat from your wallet you'll need some ETH gas. If necessary, cash out some BAT and purchase ETH. I think you can do this by sending it to an "Uphold Card" and selecting ETH, then send the ETH to your wallet using the same steps here, just replace "BAT" with "ETH" everywhere you see it in the How-To instructions. TBH, I haven't done that process myself.
