What Does a (Still New) PublishOx Writer Earn? Looking at March 2021

By PopPopPrego | The Fascination | 31 Mar 2021

I wrote my first article for PublishOx on 8 February 2021, so March represents my first full month writing for this much-loved platform.

I have mostly focused on what it is like to stumble into this strange and fascinating Cryptoworld with noob eyes, which means I have written about faucets a lot more than most writers (haha! I know, but free is free!). My idea all along has been to risk as little as possible, learn as much as possible, and try to retain that sense of WTF is THIS? that captured my curiosity in the first place. My eventual goals are to build up a nugget that I can learn trading with, slowly build BTC, and earn a sense of confidence in this area as a future place to invest (confidence that does not rely on me happening upon a huge bull market to feel like I know what I'm doing).

I have been surprised by how many opportunities there are to earn cryptocurrency without putting your own money in. And this post will join the many that are written at the beginning of the month peeling back how worth it (or not) it is to dedicate time and effort to writing for PublishOx. With that being said, though, my two biggest "earnings" by far from writing have been (1) the continual learning and support I have gained from other writers and commenters here, and (2) the fact that finally I have people who I can talk to about cryptocurrency who don't immediately act like I wear a tin foil hat and cram corks in my butt to keep the probes out!

I have people I can talk to about cryptocurrency who don't immediately act like I wear a tin foil hat and cram corks in my butt to keep the probes out!

Total value of earnings from (1) and (2) = PRICELESS

However, I can not pay my mortgage with stories about how some people think I'm not insane, which leads us to a run down on my career (such as it is) as a cryptowriter.

I wrote a total of 11 articles for PublishOx. This is not as many as I planned or even as many as I thought I wrote! Tbh, life has been a little bOnKeRzZz for me lately so I will give myself a stern talking to but let myself off with a warning this time. But I'd better not let it happen again!

Right now, I have 338 followers, which is pretty cool! Thanks everyone for following me! To follow a new writer like me is really such an encouraging vote of faith. It will keep me going, and I very much appreciate it. I also would appreciate it if you wanted to spread the good word about PopPopPrego! (can't help myself).

I don't really do any marketing, other than a few times I made some noise over on Noise.Cash about some of my articles. I mean I do mention posts every once awhile on Twitter, but I can't imagine that driving much traffic. I mean, @PopPrego has literally 36 followers. Thanks to the Three Dozen!! You can probably tell that I am not a marketing genius. So, each of the personal connections and comments (even the ones that point out how  U r n idiot) are important and meaningful to me!

I interpret this to mean that people are mainly finding my articles through PublishOx platform itself, and are maybe drawn by the incredibly sophisticated and professionally executed high-brow memes I use for each article. And by sophisticated I mean "looks like they were made by a 4 year old." But they make me laugh, and having fun is a huge part of this journey. My PublishOx writing career so far really is a self-contained affair. I write here, readers find me here, and followers sustain me here. BIG GRATITUDE!!!

Gratitude, as awesome as it is, also won't pay my mortgage, so let's get to the numbers!

In February, I earned around $25 in AMPL, ETH, and FARM. Prices for those coins move around, but that was the PubOx tally on the day I looked at it. My goal was to go bOnKeRzZz and earn $26 dollars in March!! I know, the ferocious ambition is a little scary up close.

In March, I earned $53.88. That is more than $26! On top of that, I got a random drawing consolation prize for what I thought was a pretty kick ass article on crushing it on the World's #1 Game For Pretending You Are A Lifeless Floating Camera (i.e., Upland) that was worth $10 in ETH. I wish I'd earned a top spot on the merits, but I'll take the extra bonus the Editors generously made available! And, without the contest I never would have learned to float helplessly around Fresno (THE Lettuce Capital of Central California!). So, win-win!

I also started to use Noise.Cash, which I learned about here on PubOx. It is a really cool platform where some billionaires have funded a microblogging site with BitCoin Cash, which is provided for "Noisers" to distribute as tips. The BCH withdraws to your account really fast, and fee-free, so you get little emails and notifications all day whenever you tip someone else or they tip you. It is like PubOx's tip system in the sense that the funds you tip are free from the platform. Very fun, and there are both new friends and friendly faces waiting for you over there. I'm PopPopPrego over there, too. Look me up and say Hi! I probably will literally pay you to say Hi! (well, I will definitely tip you if you say Hi and mention this post, no Spam after all... How about that deal hahaha!). OK, so it is actually mathematically daunting to add up dozens of nanotranscations, but my best guess is something like $20.18. I have that BCH deposited over to Celsius, so I have earned an additional $.05 in interest. Ka-Chinggggg! Free for free...Plus interest (even if you need a microscope to see it)!

Finally, I thought I'd throw in a little Brave Browser action. I was using Brave before I ever heard of PubOx and didn't know I could earn BAT from it. Well, I am still terrible at maximizing Brave according to the earnings other folks have reported, but between the mobile app and the browser, I earned $5.32. Sure, I can't actually use them because I don't have 25 BAT total, but they are there waiting for me. Like a trusty old dog. Like a trust old dog that doesn't trust me until I prove my love x25.

PubOx tips = $53.88

PubOx contest raffle prize = $10.00

Noise.Cash = $20.18

BAT = $5.32

Grand Total = $89.38

So there you have it! The glamorous life of a fledgling PublishOx blogger laid out in all its wholesome splendor. When you add on the truly priceless education and relationships I've gained, it feels like it was a no-brainer for me to start writing here. I love it.

Thanks for reading this post, for liking, following, and tipping, and for making March a success!

Onward to April!
