NEW YORK — Former President Donald Trump will pardon Ayman al-Zawahiri, leader of the attacks on the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001 according to sources familiar with the outgoing administration. Trump, a long-time supporter of Saudi royalty and business moguls, allegedly believes that the U.S. military responded too harshly.
“He [Trump] told us in meeting that ‘9/11 was like twenty years ago. When are we going to let that go? The Saudis are fine—I’ve known the Saudis for a long time—big business—fantastic oil—great business partners. I think they’ve paid the price. And anyway we took out Iraq and Osama and ISIS—a great victory for me and for the powerful people of the United States. Honestly, the Twin Towers looked ugly, anyway, didn’t they,’” quotes a source who was at the meeting with Trump and his advisors.
In response to the leak, Donald Trump boasted to reporters about his friendship with Saudi royalty and oil tycoons then commented on how much nicer the Freedom Tower is. Trump’s team hasn’t yet commented on the leak or Trump’s comments to the media.
President-elect Joe Biden responded to this leak. “It’s a despicable thing to say—to mock the deaths of thousands of American citizens. Those were good people. And frankly, I think the Twin Towers looked nicer as a pair than just another big, solitary skyscraper.”
