The Beatles - Here, There And Everywhere

See The Brand New Video by The Beatles - 'Here, There and Everywhere'

It's hard to believe that more than half a century has passed since the breakup of arguably the most influential recording act of all time and of course, I'm referring to the Beatles, the four lads from Liverpool, the 'Fab Four'.

Since all their songs were recorded in the 1960s, long before music videos went mainstream, the majority of their songs never had an accompanying video. Back then, artists performed live on television in order to be seen and heard by the masses. In fact, the band's appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in early February, 1964 helped propel the band into the stratosphere of popularity in the USA. From then on, there was no stopping them.

In early 1967, before the release of their ground breaking LP, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', the Beatles surprised everyone by releasing their first 'promotional film' to accompany the release of the first two songs recorded for the LP, the single widely regarded by music enthusiasts ever since as the best 45 RPM single ever released, ' Penny Lane / Strawberry Fields Forever'. The song was released in February of that year, 4 months before the LP and it was decided not to include the two songs on the LP. Nevertheless, the single was a huge number 1 hit for the Beatles and it gave their fans a hint of what was to come later in the summer. Not only was the release of Sgt Pepper a huge success, they also released a separate single that also went to number within a month of the album's release, 'All You Need Is Love'.

1967 was a very good year for the Beatles indeed!

They would eventually release a few more promotional films (precursor to 'music video'), such as "Revolution' and 'Hey Jude' but most of their songs still had no accompanying film / video. That started to change recently when the official Beatles Youtube channel began releasing brand new videos of some of their coolest songs and honestly, I think they're fantastic.

Released only 7 days ago, the Beatles released a new video for their beautiful song, 'Here, There And Everywhere', sung by Paul McCartney and included in their re-release of their great LP, 'Revolver' which includes alt-takes and never before released recording sessions. The video has already surpassed 650,000 hits, 47,000 likes and I'm quite certain those numbers will climb much higher as word spreads.

You can watch the video by clicking here.

They've also released a new video for their song, 'I'm Only Sleeping' a month ago which has now surpassed 3.1 million hits and George Harrison's first real big hit with the band, 'Taxman', also released a month ago and that video is approaching one million hits.

All the work is hand drawn which is incredible in itself. You can read more about it here.

The Beatles Youtube channel remain one of the most popular. The video for their mega-hit, 'Hey Jude', uploaded 7 years ago has surpassed 341 million views, 'Here Comes The Sun', released 3 years ago has notched up 111 million hits (Check out the 2019 mix here) while their 'new' video for 'Come Together', uploaded 4 years ago has more than 108 million views. A live performance of 'Yesterday' from 1965 and uploaded 4 years ago has 63 million hits.

It's safe to say that collectively, the Beatles have gone beyond the 1 billion mark as far as Youtube clicks go. Can it get any more impressive than that?

Peace and Love to everyone.
