Meme tokens are Steem Engine tokens on the Steem blockchain, created with the intention of being given as tips for memes that you like while exploring the Steem community, much like Doge or Banano. The token is an interesting proposition and at the moment it’s fairly inexpensive so it could be a good investment opportunity if it gains more popularity and use.

As it stands right now though Meme is just a stand-alone token. One thing that could help the token to gain popularity and thereby increase in value is if a community was built up around it, similar to the PALnet community, made specifically for memes and funny pictures.

If a community was built specifically for that purpose using a Steem Tribe as they’re called it could very well help to draw attention to the token. Of course creating a Steem Tribe takes a fair amount of investment from the creator, but until the creator of Meme does that, there’s always Meep.
