With another month decreed of social distance guidelines, I see myself with another month to approach a task for myself and accomplish it. It's easily typed and forgotten, but today reminded me of one thing. Social distance is not a novel concept. We see it when we want to sit away from people on public transit, or when we go straight to the back row of the movie theater for a show. To varying degrees, people shy away from each other but it seems that our impatience with the insisted duration is the cause of a lot of stress. It's been confusing what to do with ourselves in such a long meantime. I think for myself, I understand that it's not to fall into any poor habits I did not have prior to the 'silent spring'. I still need to break this winter up within me, so it may be that I become quite focused the following thirty days in my own objective. I think to be constantly engaged in a good task may just be the panacea everyone's seeking but they do not realize it. I cannot say I knew it all along, but that returning to the very tasks that please me when I have a choice are my only options when that freedom is stripped. If you're struggling in these times of solitude, just take pleasure in knowing you're not the only one.
