Cosmos ($ATOM) is a cryptocurrency chain built on Cosmos SDK (the same one that Polygon and some other chains use too) aims to create a network of networks united by opensource tools for streamlining transactions between them, it didn't exactly succeed in that and is slowly dying, pricewise and as a project too.

Nothing new is being built on it and while there are many projects launching that are connected to the cosmos hub (like TIA or OSMO) almost nothing is built on cosmos itself. There is no reason to invest into it and no reason to stake it except the possibility of an airdrop.

I took a part in multiple airdrops and cashed out few of them with some profit but the golden age of ATOM airdrops is gone now. Last one appeared in march this year and it was the TIA airdrop. Those coins rose up in price fast and fell down even faster (from around 2 dollars a coin to few cents now). And since then no big airdrop has happened. We are still waiting for the nomic to go on sale so we can cash out the stuff we were given from that airdrop.

Price of Cosmos falls down a lot and it doesn't seem like it will get back to the 11$ price it once had soon (or ever). Even the high staking rewards aren't as lucrative as they were in the past.
Will Cosmos have a future? I think it will die like most other over ambitious projects like Onthology. I personally only hold it because I hope for new airdrops.
