Martin Charles Scorsese is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor born in 1942. Scorsese received a Master of Arts degree from New York University. To date, Scorsese has directed twenty-six feature-length narrative films, and seventeen feature-length documentary films, and has co-directed one anthology film. Some of his films include Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Departed, and The Irishman. His successful career as a filmmaker makes him one of the major figures of the New Hollywood era.
