And another season ends. But this season has been a bit different.
I've been finding it less fun grinding the matches and I've been busy so with much consideration I decided to give the Splintermate service a try.

Lets get straight to it:
Splintermate
In short - why not try using a bot and see how it compares to my previous seasons work when I do it myself.
While a short trial may not be the greatest measure it will at least be indicative of whether the bot can do better than I can myself.
Given the cost of the Archmage bot which apparently is very good but getting a token is nigh on impossible I decided to try the Splintermate bot. I'll go into the process of getting this set up another day.
And so I paid my subscription and set it to run for the last season which leads us to the rewards:
Seasons Rewards.
Throughout the season I probably received about 50% of the focus chests that I was getting if I worked at it myself. A good part of that is that to keep a decent winrate I decided to not let the bot worry much about the focus and to concentrate mainly on winning. On average I think it managed to still get five chests a day (I probably averaged about 8 a day doing it myself). A couple of days it really struggled to get any chests (a couple days only had 2 chests) which brought things down a fair bit but that may have been due to the type of focus quest on those days.
So about 80 chests over the season - not too bad! But did I get anything good? One chest gave me 500 DEC and I did get one Djinn Chwala. Everything else was not that exciting.
So that leaves the end of season rewards:
So last season I got almost USD4.00 of rewards over 51 chests. This season I didn't even make USD1.00 with 33 chests.
I have to say, I don't feel that bad about it - USD1.00 of estimated value theoretically pays for the bot for a month and with better luck maybe I'd earn more. The amount of chests for the month is probably about 70-80% of what I'd earn if I played myself but it is a lot less time consuming for me of course.
I have another season approximately of time left on the bot so lets see how the second season with it goes.
