Splinterlands - Battle Library Twenty - Trample, Stampede, Crush

As long as I've been playing the trample ability and stampede have been mostly forgotten, but not this time!

First things first, feel free to just go to their website directly but if Splinterlands interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:

This battle features Trample and Stampede and an idea I saw on a video or post previously.

The rules that applied to this battle were:

- Mana cap of 20 - Not a low cap but definitely not a high cap

- Fire, Water, Earth, Death, or Dragon;

- Stampede - Trample can activate multiple times in one turn;

I'd been looking for card power, summoner and a strong deck and came across a suggestion on youtube somewhere for a Dragon deck featuring a level two Quix and a Desert Dragon which I'd picked up in a pack.  This battle was the first time I'd had a good chance to use the deck and make it work.

And so my line up was:

Summoner - Quix (4) - minus one speed and ranged to the enemy - at level two;

Desert Dragon (7) - Powerful melee but the power for it is Trample which could be deadly in the right circumstances.  At level two the dragon also has pierce which works well in combination with trample;

Sporcerer (6) - A magic attack is useful but i used it for the armor reduction to increase the chance I could get a trample off;

Goblin Sorcerer (3) - Just to fill up the team and weaken the opposition from the back;

Using 20 out of 20 it is fairly obvious that I'm hoping to get trample to go off.  Desert Dragon is a solid tank and Sporcerers rust skill supports him and hopefully I'll get a team that doesnt counter me somehow.  Mylor could be nasty.....

And the opponent went with a Death Deck - Thorns incoming for sure.

Summoner - Thaddeus (4) - life and magic attach reduction to the opposition;

Cursed Windreku (6) - probably the most common death tank since Chaos Legion came out due to thorns;

Undead Badger (2) - a sneak melee attack but probably more in as a filler;

Death Elemental (3) - snipe magic attacker good to bypass the tank;

Silent Sha-vi (5) - powerful melee sneak attack of three;

A lineup using 20 out of 20.  Using death is a challenging splinter I find but Thaddeus can be a good counter to magic and Windreku is a solid tank due to thorns. The downside and working in my favour is death generally has low life so that could make things work well for me!

Let's get started:

Turn One - Sha-vi is fast and takes out my Goblin Sorcerer to start - that's not good.  The Death Elemental goes next hitting the Sporcerer.  Desert Dragon hits the Windreku and takes thorns damage and the Windreku hits back.  Sporcerer hit Windreku and Undead Badger hits the Sporcerer to finish the turn - Desert Dragon still has five life, Windreku has four.

Turn Two - Starts looking like this with an advantage of four cards to two, 12 life to seven - it's not looking good, or is it?

Sha-vi takes out the Sporcerer leaving the Dragon on it's own.  Death Elemental chips at the Dragon leaving it at four life before the Dragon attacks the Windreku killing him but taking thorns damage and being reduced to two life - I'm toast right?

WAIT - DId anyone forget Trample and Stampede?

With five attack Desert Dragon's trample activates after killing the Windreku allowing him to kill the badger, stampeding the death elemental and Sha-vi.  Battle ends on turn two with the Desert Dragon killing the entire team in one go!  AWESOME!

I have to say this battle is probably my favourite so far with a plan working, and a massive stampede to boot which is something I have not had happen before!  FUN for sure!

And that wraps it up - Hope you enjoyed the battle and if you found it interesting and are not into Splinterlands yet give it a go:
