I find it extremely hard to make money on Steemit as a beginner because you have no followers. also, you haven't been recognized by big accounts on the platform. On Steemit you make money when other people vote for your content. And the amount of money you get depends on how much steem-power the voter has. so if you have no followers and want to try making money on Steemit you can try one thing. that is joining contests.

To join a contest, first, you need to join a community.

Join as much as you can. But first read the rules of the community you gonna join and then decide if that community is for you. And remember to never post stuff that the community doesn't allow. (ask me why) You can post them in your own profile. After you join the community you like, browse through
the recent posts. then you will see some Steemians (mainly admins and moderators) has posted about contests they organize. Read those posts and understand what the contest is about. usually, these contests are weekly contests. so you have a week to submit your entries.

While there are some contests that are hard to participate in, there are very simple contests too. For example, try photograph contests. you don't need professional equipment to win. just take the best pictures you can and create a post in the community following the contest rules. If you don't win the first contest you participate don't get discouraged. Keep participating in contests. so you get some recognition. try to build a following. I have won a few contests and made like 5$. But haven't managed to build a following. Maybe you will have better luck.

Now you know that joining contests is my preferred method to make money on Steemit for now. give it a try if you have time. also don't forget to engage with the community. That's very important. don't just post stuff and do nothing. check out other members' posts and engage with them. that being said I must say that this is not a guaranteed easy way to make money.
