A warm welcome to another Let’s Simplify Things! post!

In this series of posts about NFTs I’m attempting to provide you all the information you need to enter the wonderful world of NFTs.

CHAPTER 10!

Alpaca Worlds.

So far I have showcased in the series “big”, well known projects and I was planning for chapter 10 such a project to be featured. 

When by coincidence, while browsing the various channels and communications media, the picture of a sweet alpaca caught my eye.

I decided to learn more about it and here we are…

Don’t worry the other project is still on and coming very very soon!

So what did I found that convinced me to write about Alpaca Worlds?

You see one of my goals is to introduce to you smaller projects that I believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of your attention!

Projects that have a nice background story and great potential! 

And Alpaca Worlds I truly believe is such a project!

You see Alpaca Worlds is the combination of the work of two families that left their home country of Guatemala and live in the Netherlands.

Each family member is contributing to the project to the best of their abilities, and I love it when I see such teamwork! 

When I asked them to tell me their story and how Alpaca Worlds started they sent me the following… 

“We are two families and we’ve been friends since 3,5 years ago. We both come from Guatemala and live in the Netherlands. We enjoy going out on trips and spending time together. Jose started getting involved in collecting NFTs in 2020 and started involving Juan in the late 2020’s. Jose and Juan came up with the idea to start a collection based on Juan’s daughter’s drawings.

Inés (Juan’s daughter) got super excited and with Juan’s Wife (Melania) they started making the digital versions. Jose and Juan elaborated the story for the collection and with that we began our journey releasing the first alpaca.

We started the telegram channel on January 13 and it already has 160 members. The collection was also verified level 1 on January 15 (We were very surprised about the verification speed)

Jose and Juan have been blockchain enthusiasts since 2017 and, because they are developers, they have been building tools to help automate the distribution process and will be exploring building a dapp in the future.

Today we will start releasing the alpaca’s journey where it will visit many places around the world starting by leaving Peru. We want to involve the community as much as possible to decide the alpaca’s next destination until it finds Apu’s daughter.”

Now I’m sure you are wondering what is the story behind Apu and the alpaca’s journey to find Apu’s daughter? 

It is based on a Latin American legend that goes like this….

It all started a long time ago in the Andes. Way before the Spanish arrived in America. People enjoyed a peaceful life in the upper world, cherishing nature and sharing the mountains with a few short-haired alpacas owned by Apu, the god of mountains.

Although, the alpacas we know and love today come from a different place: the underworld. The underworld is a magical place where the offspring of Andean people’s gods live. Over there, Apu’s daughter took care of a large herd of beautiful long-haired alpacas.

She was having a difficult time taking care of such a big herd on her own. Apu thought it was a good idea to have someone help his daughter and allowed her to marry a herdsman she fell in love with during one of her visits to the upper world.

The herdsman moved to the underworld, and they were extremely happy for a while. But after some time, the herdsman started to feel homesick.

The herdsman and Apu’s daughter asked Apu’s permission to move to the upper world and take the alpaca herd with them. Apu agreed under one condition: The herdsman shall continue taking care of the alpaca herd while taking special care of a tiny alpaca that he had to carry with him at all times. But back in the upper world, the herdsman didn’t keep his word. He stopped caring for the alpacas and disregarded the tiny special one.

Extremely disappointed, Apu’s daughter decided to go back to the underworld with all the alpacas. So, she ran to the nearest water spring, where she dove and swam to the underworld. Most of her alpacas followed her except for a few the herdsman prevented from joining her. Since then, the alpacas live nearby lakes and springs, waiting for their mistress to come back.

A few weeks ago, an alpaca heard a rumor: Apu’s daughter is back in the upper world. So, he decided to leave the mountains and started looking for her.

To simplify it you will be able to follow the journey of the alpaca around the world on his quest to find Apu’s daughter and participate in the various quests and games along the way! 

Jose and Juan that I had the pleasure to speak with where very clear that they want to involve the community as much as possible and I find this great as it makes the journey unpredictable!

They have some great and very exciting ideas ,that unfortunately I can not disclose.

But I can tell you that you don't want to miss them!!!

Not only the people behind it are so nice, the artist very talented but also the potential is there!
