A warm welcome to another Let’s Simplify Things! post!
In this post let us have a look at what has happened since my last post about Brave browser.
As you have probably read on my previous post about Brave browser I have been using it in various forms and machines for more than a year now.
And I have to say that I like the project a lot!
That said, I also have to say that they do have a big issue with transparency.
Especially when it comes to the advertisements.
The counter of advertisements in the browser is simply a joke for me, as it is an estimate and not what you will get at the pay day!
And as I have already written, I have been monitoring it for months comparing the number of advertisements I have seen with the Brave browser counter and what I receive at the end.
And it has been constantly wrong!
Yes, I have written to them multiple times, as I believe many others have done so as well, the past months about it but nothing has been done.
The latest episode on this serial has been the September payout.
For those of you who don't know what happened, let me enlighten you!
The amount of BAT that was paid was so low compared to the counter that they received a tsunami of complains!
In order to make good for it they promised a middle of the month extra payout, which they did!
That is very good, as it shows they do care and do recognise a mistake made and try to fix it.
On the other hand I have to say that even on that extra payment, there was a lack of transparency again.
That is because they didn't clarify when exactly and how much will someone be receiving.
At least I never got that information, if someone did please let me know by leaving a comment.
For the record I received deferent amounts on my various browsers, so I guess they tried to calculate how much you would receive and tried to give that number out?
No Idea to be honest!
Most importantly though, the core issue remains!
The counter is not fixed to one that shows what you will be getting.
And if I may add, that should not only be the correct number, but one they will pay no matter what!
There is also a lack of advertisements this month!
The number of advertisements I have seen has dropped significantly this month!
I would have liked to see an announcement about it explaining in details what is going on!
But with their record I don't expect one, although the hope of being happily surprised remains!
To be clear, it is to be expected to have differences on the number of advertisements shown from month to month.
For example, last year the month before the Christmas shopping season the number of advertisements sky rocketed.
That said until now the average numbers where increasing as the project was becoming more and more popular.
I would like to be able to see the real numbers and who is the advertiser and not what they give out now.
For you who don't know they have a transparency page ( here is the link ) that just shows the number of active campaigns per country among other information such as active users, BAT purchases, etc.
So to simplify it and summarise it, Brave browser is still the browser to use no question about it, they just need to fix their transparency issues, especially when it comes to the advertisements!
Finally, before saying goodbye, I want to let everyone know that I have no sponsors, this post is not sponsored by Brave or anyone else whatsoever!
You will only find my personal invitation link to Brave browser which I highly appreciate it if you use it to download the browser!
The above reflect my personal views and by no means should be taken as a recommendation to use or not use any service or equipment whatsoever!
Please feel free to make any suggestions or comments especially on what you would like to see next being simplified!
Until the next post....
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
