Guess What Holiday it is TODAY!?!?

Coming Out of the Red Corner, in Weird and Dirty Shorts...

Wait, is that a meatball? GIVE ME THAT!

Today is May 18th. It could be a regular, run-of-the-mill day, but did you know it could be time for celebration?

Let's assess the situation and see if you can celebrate one of today's weird holidays. You may have to do some rewarding work before you can engage in the proceedings, but it might be well worth it! Want to find out if you can join us? Here's how:

Step 1 - Check Your Tables and Counters

No, this is not some mathematical expression we are performing. We're talking kitchen and dining room counters. See if there are any messes you need to clean up. If so, move the dishes to the sink (or dishwasher) to prepare for the celebration.

Step 2 - Check Your Sink

Is it looking spic-and-span or as clean as an overused garbage disposal? If your answer is the first, you can move on to perform the next check. If the answer is more 'garbage disposal-ley,' you may have to clean it up a bit first.

Step 3 - Check Your Dishwasher

Look inside. Do you see bleach-white walls and an empty void staring back at you? If so, you are probably ready to celebrate. If not, lasso up your detergent and crank that baby up - HOT! When the cycle is done, put your dishes away in the cupboard.

Make sure there is not a dirty dish left in the house!

Why are we doing all this?

Some holidays may have been created so that we can celebrate the simple achievements we make in our lives. People often celebrate triumph over the greatest obstacles they overcome, but the smaller (more tedious) obstacles sometimes go unnoticed and unappreciated. Today is one of those holidays that celebrates the hard work we do to keep our homes in order. Keeping our houses in order enables us to organize our lives, stay healthy, and proud. So, what is today?

Today, May 18th, Is "No Dirty Dishes Day!"

If you have completed all the steps, you can go ahead and pop open that bottle of champaign.

*Tip: It's probably best to just drink straight from the bottle. No need to dirty up another glass!!

Cheers!

Language is a gift that we often take for granted. To be understood, I believe, is one of our deepest and most powerful desires.
