A few days ago I was watching the news break on new features for Vivaldi. I thought it was really cool but figured it was old news. I searched on Publish0x today for Vivaldi and it came back with 1 article (written by my back in April). So I had to write another one to give you all a refresher course on another cool browser besides Brave.

Break the Internet! wait no that's not right.... Break FROM the Internet! Yes that's better!
Vivaldi big new update let's you pause your internet. By that I mean there is function/button that you can enable to stop all notifications and internet coming to your browser. It enables you to take a break free from distractions. Since a lot of people are working from home and connected to the internet 24/7 it is beneficial to take breaks.

Another great update is a 2 for 1. The first part is called Base Domain highlighting. What is does is help you identify fake site that are trying to look like real sites. So if you go to www.google.com then it will appears as such. But if you go to www.google.fakesite.com then it will appear as www.google.FAKESITE.com. It makes it incredibly easy to spot if there are any discrepancies in the URL. Since Vivaldi lets you customize the browser a lot if you hide or make your address bar tiny there is also a warning icon to alert to you anything that appears off.
The 2nd part is that you can crop out parts of a URL that you are trying to copy. So if you are at www.google.com/pictures/Family/Sister/Birthday you can hold control and put you mouse over the word "family" and it will take you back to the family directory. It's a super fast and convenient tool to go back directories on websites. Maybe you got to that sub directory from a google search but want to go back 1 directory.
There are also updates on the Android app as well. You can customize the location of the Address bar. So if you want it at the bottom instead of the default top location you can. If you want your tabs at the bottom you can do that as well.
Desktop version is at 3.3 (stable) and the Android version is at 3.2 (stable). I highly recommend checking out the browser if you haven't already. These are just some of the cool features it has to separate it from other browsers.
