Some call him charlatan comparing him to Richard Heart, CEO of hex. Some call him a visionary, others a genius. But lets put all opinions aside and try to focus and understand who exactly is creator of Cardano?
Who is Charles Hoskinson and what are his accomplishments?
Charles Hoskinson - Born on November 5th 1987, Hawaii, American entrepreneur, born into a family of doctors but chose to study math and finance, by most known for creating Cardano and writing countless papers on blockchain technology.
CEO of IOG(Input Output Global), a blockchain technology company responsible inter alia for maintenance and well being of Cardano blockchain. IOG was formerly known as IOHK(Input Output Hong Kong) has rebranded and moved the headquarters from Hong Kong to Wyoming, USA.
A philanthropist, donated 20 million USD to Carnegie Mellon University, Hoskinson attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Colorado Boulder but did not acquire the PhD.
Founder of Invictus Innovations, creators of Bitshares, a DPOS(Delegated proof of stake) consensus blockchain. A very innovative by year 2013 consensus algorithm idea, conceived by Dan Larimer, the Co-founder of Bitshares, Steem blockchain, and a CTO of Block.one, company involved in technological advancement of EOS.
Hoskinson is also the creator of Bitcoin Education Project.
Through which he eventually met Vitalik Buterin.
This led him to becoming a co-founder of Ethereum alongside with Vitalik Buterin, Gavin Wood, Joseph Lubin and Anthony Di Iorio. Hoskinson was removed from Ethereum project in 2014, due to differences in his and other programmers vision of how Ethereum incentives model should look like.

Hoskinson wanted to commercialize the project and others wanted to keep it open-sourced and free for everyone.
After leaving Ethereum, Charles Hoskinson alongside Jeremy Wood, a former manager of operations at Ethereum, in founded IOHK in late 2014.
Charles was also a advisor to Lisk Foundation back in 2016. Back at that time he and his team worked on different projects such as RScoin and Scorex.
Scorex is an open-source platform developed by IOHK and was used by Waves Tech as a foundation for their Waves blockchain.
Hoskinson is said to have a fortune of approximately 600 million USD, majority of his wealth coming from Ethereum and Cardano.
He's an owner of Nessie's - a restaurant and a whiskey bar which is not yet opened, and an owner of Hoskinson Health and Wellness Clinic, both located in Wyoming, USA.

Hoskinson is well known for his hotblooded tweets and videos about different delicate manners.

And in 2022, Hoskinson testified before the House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit.

My thoughts
In my humble opinion Charles Hoskinson is a person who can be liked or disliked. There's probably no in between. His sharp character and honest manner of speech can bring him allies but also tends to create enemies. There are some matters I disagree with Hoskinson personally. Im a Cardano holder, alongside different coins. But I am certain about his good intentions and I appreciate all the things he have done for crypto space.
