There was a place that I'd love to visit in my home town. It's located about half an hour drive from where I live. This place was a dam built on a river to reserve water for farming. And the dam is called Benel dam. It's a dam situated in country side and for sure had beautiful sencery.

I look at the location of Benel dam on the map. It's north of my home town towards hilly areas. The route to he dam is ascending with winding narrow roads. (North of home town were hilly areas, south is the ocean area.)

I have read some review about the Benel Dam online. Most of the review said it's a calm lush place and great for photogrpahy. Some photos I saw online prove that. It look like a great place to go with family for picnicking or just relaxing. So, that's where I was going.

I drove to the west on the main road to get out of my home town. Later, outside my town I turned into a narrow road to the north. As expected, I saw sceneries of rice farms, cows, chicken, and forest along the way. It was quite a scenic drive.

Being in a country road, I realized, the road was so narrow, only smaller car could pass here. Exactly only one and half car fit in this road. So, when driving here, you have to stop when a car coming from opposite direction to get them chance to pass.

Finally after half an hour drive, I arrived at the gate of Benel Dam. I was going to get to the dam, but the road was blocked by bamboo fences.There was a notice board that said the access to benel dam was not available for visitors until corona virus situation is over!

In plain English, it's closed!

Well, what could I say? My adventourous journey was over. I did not think I could enter the facility and take beautiful photos I imagined while planning this journey. I turned back. Maybe next time, when the corona is over.
