Tezos has added another powerhouse tot their core development ecosystem: the iMdea Software Institute will start to contribute to the core development of Tezos. iMdea has signed a collaboration agreement with the Tezos Foundation and the French based research institute Nomadic Labs.
Nomadic Labs has been contributing for a long time to the core development of Tezos and has not just been adding to the Tezos mainnet, but has also been involved in the training of part of the 1300+ devs that are getting prepped to build on Tezos. You can follow Nomadic Labs on twitter for updates.
The iMdea research institute is one of the seven research centers that form the iMdea innitiative. The iMdea initiative "is a project founded by the Madrid Regional Government, included in the IV Regional Plan of Scientific Research and Technological Innovation 2005-2008 (PRICIT), for the purpose of setting up advanced research centers and higher education and training in the Community of Madrid." (Source) The iMdea Software Institute recruits the best international talent to be at the forefront of research, to ensure that software is safe, reliable and efficient.
With the addition of iMdea, the Tezos ecosystem grows and adds an additional expert in distributed, decentralized and formally verified software. iMdea will contribute with knowledge and experience in 3 research areas that place it at the worlds top three rankings in it's field of expertise. The three expertise fields of iMdea are:
- Analysis and verification of programs.
- Programming languages, compilers and systems.
- Security and privacy.
