Its main elements in terms of heritage are the ruins of the town of Laccobriga (Lagos), the Parish Church of Santa Maria de Lagos, the Church of Santo António (Municipal Museum), the Castle of the Governors, and the Fort of Ponta da Bandeira.
A place of obligatory passage, also the main reason for many tourists to visit this city, is the Basilica or Santuárrio of Santa Luzia. A spectacular temple located on Monte de Santa Luzia, very close to where you can visit the attractive ruins of the Old City of Santa Luzia.
