Figueira da Foz, located at the mouth of the Mondego, is a nice town of Beira Litoral that has become one of the most famous beach towns in Portugal.

This fame develops from XIX, when bourgeois families came to take therapeutic "baths". Famous, above all, is its extensive fine sand beach, much visited during the summer by Portuguese and foreigners. In addition, the area is sought by the surfers who visit it, especially the locality of Buarcos.

The city doesn't have a large number of monuments, but the lack of important monuments is compensated by a museum of extraordinary quality, the Municipal Museum Dr. Santos Rocha, and above all, for its natural wealth, visible both in the city itself and in the surroundings.
