The streets of Porto have many stories, with their buildings that are several years old, with their sculptures with various meanings and with their tiles shining through the city.
The city of Porto is welcoming and with many people who like to please anyone who is visiting to show the best we have in the city.

The city of Porto last year 2019 is completely full of tourists, I assume it was the year that I saw more foreigners in my city. But the pandemic made them disappear, and the city became more silent and empty with the sadness of those who like to receive tourists.

The streets sometimes seem deserted because more and more the news affirms that the numbers of infected people is going up, what makes the people start to be more afraid of going out, mainly older people.

Remote work now in Portugal is mandatory, for example I have been working at home for 2 weeks but there are many companies mainly in technology areas that have their employees 100% remote since the beginning of the pandemic.

These streets are also less crowded because I took the pictures during lunch, and many people are at home eating or in restaurants. Unfortunately, many people are avoiding restaurants due to the fear of being infected inside the premises. The restaurant and hotel sector is experiencing a real bad time.

I hope this pandemic will end at least in the beginning of spring to see tourists strolling the streets again and to see the resumption of street commerce, restaurants and hotels returning to their normal routine. It is clear to see the streets of Porto full of people with great joy.
