Trip Portugal - House of the poet José Régio

José Régio is the literary pseudonym of José Maria dos Reis Pereira, poet and writer. Many point him as one of the most significant figures of Portuguese literary modernism. He was born and died in Vila do Conde, land that he immortalized in his work.

“Vila do Conde, spread between pine forests, river and sea” wrote José Régio and in a sentence condensed the essence of this village that today is a city, where the Ave river meets the sea. It is only about the Count who named him that no one understands himself.

From its construction to the possession by the Poet José Régio, the house was always of the paternal family branch. Due to the death of aunt Libânia, the property, by inheritance, came into the possession of José Régio father, giving rise to a new cycle regarding the use of the house. This phase would end with the death of the poet's father, who succeeds as the sole owner of the property.

Unfortunately on this day I didn't have time to enter the museum, but it is heard that inside the museum we find his collection of sacred art, despite not being a believer.

This museum is located in the city of Vila de Conde in the north of Portugal, where it is very close to the second largest city in Portugal which is Portugal. Here you will find a beautiful river, beautiful beaches and many good restaurants to enjoy Portuguese food.

If you visit Portugal you will have here another beautiful place where you can appreciate the beauty of the exterior and a beautiful museum that tells the story of a Portuguese poet.
